MSU Beef Cow Mineral Formulation

Formulated by Dr. Harlan Ritchie of Michigan State University, E. Lansing, Michigan

Ingredients:
Monocalcium Phosphate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Salt, Magnesium Oxide, Calcium Carbonate, Zinc Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Cobalt Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide, Natural and Artificial Flavors, and Mineral Oil.

Use Directions:
Allow free-choice access by beef cows to this specifically formulated mineral. Cattle that have not been exposed to free-choice mineral should be fed Heinold MSU Beef Cow Mineral gradually during the first 10-14 days to prevent over consumption. WARNING: Do not permit intake of supplemental selenium to exceed 0.3 ppm on a complete ration basis.

Heinold 14% Calf Pellet is a complete pellet for growing and finishing cattle. Feed at the rate of 1.00% to 2.75% of the bodyweight of the calf. A small amount of hay is suggested daily. Provide access to fresh, clean water and free-choice salt at all times. WARNING: Do not permit intake of supplemental selenium to exceed 0.3 ppm on a complete ration basis.

Use Directions:
Mix 150 lbs of Heinold 40% Beef with Bovatec with 1850 lbs of grain to make one ton of complete feed containing 30 gms of Lasalocid per ton. Feed 16.6 to 24 lbs per head per day to supply 250 to 360 mg of Lasalocid per head per day.
 

CAUTION
1. Do not allow horses or other equines access to formulation containing Lasalocid. (Ingestion of Lasalocid by equines has been fatal).
2. Lasalocid medicated cattle feed is safe for use in cattle only. Consumption by unapproved species may result in toxic reactions.
3. Do not exceed the levels of Lasalocid recommended in the feeding directions, as reduced average daily gains may result.
4. Feeding undiluted or mixing errors resulting in high concentrations of Lasalocid could be fatal to cattle; must be thoroughly mixed in feeds before use; Do not feed undiluted.

HEIFERVESCE-B Free Choice Mineral is formulated to be fed free choice to pasture cattle (slaughter, stocker, feeder cattle, and dairy beef replacement heifers) to provide 60 to 200 milligrams of Lasalocid per head daily. Daily consumption of this product between 1.34 and 4.45 ounces will supply the 60 to 200 mgs. of Lasalocid.
 

If intake is too low, move the feeder closer to the water source and resting area. If intake is too high, move the feeder farther away. It should be fed in a clean, dry feeder preferably near a feed or water source. No more than a 7 to 10 day supply should be put out at one time. This will insure freshness and help to maintain adequate consumption rates.
 

DO NOT FREE CHOICE ADDITIONAL SALT. This free choice mineral contains an adequate level of salt to meet normal requirements and control intake. Cattle must have sufficient forage at all times while consuming this free choice vitamin and mineral mix containing Lasalocid.
